Intel Graphics Command Center Review
Intel Graphics Command Center allows you to tweak your PC's graphics settings and monitor display. This application is meant to be an evolution of Intel's old Control Panel program, with the goal of making it more user-friendly and intuitive to use.
The most significant change here is that instead of bundled with drivers, this is being distributed through the Microsoft Store on Windows 10. It's a full-on UWP app and has all the usual flourishes.
One thing that might surprise gamers is that it also includes functionality to optimize games, using a similar system to AMD's Catalyst Control Center or Nvidia's GeForce Experience. There's a Home tab that can automatically scan for supported programs and games, and you can select one or more to have the software try to make them run faster.
Other tabs include a standard monitor display setup menu (resolution, refresh rate, monitor arrangement), color settings, and even a capture tool. Intel has added clear explanations for each function, with a learn more button to expand on the details if needed. This is a great addition for people who might find the myriad options daunting or confusing.
Another cool feature is the ability to set up keyboard shortcuts for any of the functions, which could be useful to gamers and others who want quick access to the most frequently used options. Finally, the Power tab has a nice-looking UI with six primary settings available on the left side of the window, and a large canvas for showcasing available options on the remainder of the screen.
